HealthLink and Best Practice have announced a strategic partnership to deepen integration between their technologies, supporting the exchange of clinical information across Australian primary care.

Together, they support general practices and healthcare providers across Australia, underpinning secure information exchange at scale. The agreement builds on a long-standing relationship between the two organisations, in place since 2014, and marks the next phase of closer integration.

Through the partnership, HealthLink’s GP platform – HealthLink Pro – will become more embedded within Best Practice software, helping to streamline communication, make it easier and faster to collaborate and refer, and support patient care across general practice and the wider health system.

The announcement comes at a time of growing national focus on interoperability and connected healthcare in Australia, with digital health strategies increasingly centred on improving information sharing, reducing fragmentation between systems and supporting more connected models of care across the sector.

Dave Young, Managing Director at HealthLink, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting general practice as the centre of Australian healthcare.

“General practice plays a critical role in the Australian healthcare system, and clinicians need technology that fits naturally into the way they already work,” he said.

“HealthLink and Best Practice have worked together for many years, and this formalised new partnership represents the next step in that relationship. By deepening the integration between our technologies, we can help simplify the way information moves across the healthcare system and support workflow efficiency for general practice.”

Jessica White, Chief Technology Officer at Best Practice said: “Best Practice and HealthLink have a long shared history in Australian primary care. This partnership is about building on that, and continuing to evolve how we work together so practices have the information they need, when they need it.”

The partnership marks a further step in both organisations’ commitment to delivering practical, interoperable solutions for Australian primary care.
